We waste Nothing
Guess what? GOOD NEWS!! Last night our auditionee, Paul, accepted our offer to join the band.
We have a guitarist again!!! HOORAY!!!

Growing Pains...
Well, as is often the case with bands (and especially our, it seems), we're missing one member...again. Eric, our guitarist, and we have parted ways. Eric's other project, Ganto Barn, picked up again and it being his baby and his #1 love, we all decided it would be best for him and for us if he went ahead and pursued that love. We wish him ALL the best in his future endevors and definitely hope that all of you will continue to support this amazing guitarist as well. =)
This does NOT mean we will be canceling any shows!!! We have a back-up guitarist, RJ Speese, on loan from Wisdom Jones and he will perform with us until we have our own guitarist. MANY MANY thanks to Wisdom Jones for their graciousness and support durring this difficult transition. Without friends like them, we'd be SO screwed!!
The GOOD news is that we have a full time manager now, so running auditions will be a CINCH (in so far as these things ever really are...). We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of Tzipora as our manager. She boasts decades of musical know-how, including recording seven albums and touring the country for four years non-stop. OH yeah...and she's mine and Jo's mom, so how cool is that?
ALSO...
In the world of shows and stuff it looks like some dates are changing. Please keep an eye on the MySpace and/or our Dates page for information about that. But it looks like the Catwalk Tragedy has been pushed back to March 29th, and the Battle of the Bands final round will be pushed back as well - although we're still waiting on a date. We will keep you posted as we find out more info...
Oh yeah, and we've got the MP3s from the MySpace up here as well on our Sounds page. Check it out!!

MORE DATES!!
Mark your callendars, kiddies!! RagTag Elite is booking gigs and you wouldn't want to be the only kid on the block who didn't know! November 26th we'll be opening for Devil Doll and it's sure to be a HOT show!! Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door - so get yours early and use that extra fiver to buy yourself a drink!
Also!! November 17th Jo and Sally make their TRIUMPHANT return to PhilCon, the LONGEST running Science Fiction convention in the country! They'll be talking about their webcomic, Parlor Trick, as well as giving out some AWESOME dating and social tips for geeks and arguing the tactical advantages of pirates versus ninjas versus mad scientists versus....you know what? You're better off just coming to the con! =)

Let's Get this Party STARTED!!
So after over a year of cycling in and out various musicians and searching for the PERFECT line-up - RagTag Elite is FINALLY gigging!! HOORAY!!! We've got our first gig coming up in less than a month over in Philly at Whiskey Dix. It's a Battle of the Bands so we definitely NEED your support!! Check out the Dates page for more info!
Also, we're going into the studio probably as soon as next month to begin recording our first EP. VERY exciting stuff! Keep an eye out for info on that as we get it...

We have Joined the 21st Century!
We FINALLY have a MySpace! Lame, I know... It took us forever, but we finally got it done. There's even some music up there and everything. Of course, that same music is available here...but if you want to add us to YOUR MySpace, we'd be really happy and probably jump up and down and clap our hands and get all excited. Now don't you wanna be a part of that?
In all seriousness, though, the MySpace is up, the new demo is nearly finished, and we're actively stalking seeking drummers for auditions. If you, or anyone you know, can drum and are interested in our band, please contact us right away!

We suck At Updating...
Yeah...sorry about that. So a lot has happened. We're back in the studio working on re-doing the demo with Eric. Freddy had to leave the band, sadly...so we're auditioning drummers...AGAIN. Long story short: we want to go in a different direction and Freddy just isn't our guy. No hard feelings, though - it was totally cool amongst all parties. Everybody is still buddies, and you'll probably still be able to catch Freddy at any of our future shows, just not on stage. =)
Anyway, if you know of any awesome drummers....heh.

Auditions and Happy News!
Auditions are going really well! We're currently committed to an extended audition with a guitarist to see how things go over a period of time. If all goes well, we should have happy-news announcements to be making very soon!
Actually, I do have one already! Jo got an upright bass! It's very exciting! He should be compentant on in within a couple of months, for sure. He's already figured out the basics - scales, and whatnot - and it hasn't even been a week yet. I have the utmost confidence that this will be an awesome development for our sound as a whole.

RagTag Elite is now Wii-Friendly!
Check it out! New look for the site. Pretty fancy, isn't it? Yeah, I did it all myself...that's right, me! (yeah, yeah... maybe some people looked over my shoulder and offered some helpful insights...but I did most of it, ok?) Hope this is a little easier to navigate, and also better for our friends with Nintendo Wiis.

I am PLEASED to announce that the drummer we've been auditioning has accepted our proposal to stick around. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a WARM welcome to Freddy The Pizza Guy!! That's right! The pizza guy is our new drummer! And really, we couldn't be happier. =)The site is completely done on the band side (now complete with MUSIC LINKS), but the comic side is proving far more difficult than it needs to be... Band Info Update
Ok, this is long overdue, and I apolgize for that. We've just been very busy...
The bad news:
D has respectfully bowed out of the band for personal reasons. Essentially, now is not a good time for him and he needs to turn his focus more inward than out. We fully support him, although we WILL miss him. (He will still be featured as a main character in the comic, however.)
The good news:
We're already working with a new drummer. We've given them an extended audition period to ensure that there is musical chemistry. Once we're certain that things are cool and they like us and we like them, we'll tell you who they are and make official New Member of the Band announcements.
More good news:
We go to the studio tomorrow to put in our final thoughts on the demo and make any final tweaks, then it's just the mixing and we're DONE!! We appreciate your patience - we know it took a LOT longer than we'd ever anticipated, but we absolutely PROMISE YOU that it will be worth the wait.
Thank you all again for your love and support!! Looking forward to sharing the NEW sound of RagTag Elite with you all!!

What happened to the last update???
Don't you just hate that? You go up to your webpage to make an announcement and discover the last one you put up has been....lost. Strange. Anyway, it's all ok that it was lost since it was about the demo and when we'd be recording it, and THIS update is also about that - but with different dates.
Ladies and Gentlement, RagTag Elite will be going into the studio in a little less than a week on January 28th to record our five-track demo. This demo will include our flagship song, Red Hot Sally, as well as two more you know and two more you DON'T know! So check back in about two weeks if you're looking for sound clips or info on how to get a full copy of the demo- we'll have it all up then!
Also, many, MANY thanks go out to Stefan "Master Shredder" H. for doing the guitar tracks for us on the demo! You're the BEST man!!!!

Post PhilCon Reflections...
Well, PhilCon was a TOTAL blast!! Jo and I got to speak on five panels in total, ranging on everything from our webcomic and our band, to social and dating tips for geeks. We got to meet some incredible people, including Onezumi of onezumi.com, Phil Kahn of imjustdrinking.com (site temporarily down) , and a whole mess-load of really cool other people. We also got to see some familiar faces and hang out with awesome people like D.E. Christman (Greden's Den). Many, many thanks to the AWESOME Hugh Casey who made it possible for us to go in the first place. (He invited us.)
Can't wait for next year! We're already looking forward to it! Only 363 days to go...In band-related news...
We're still auditioning guitarists, so if you or someone you know is interested, drop us an email! We've also set a tentative recording date of December 20th for the demo cd. It should have three or four tracks, including "Red Hot Sally" - your favorite song you've never heard! We say "tentative" only because we need to confirm it with the studio still.And on a more technical note, we've made some changes to the site. Updated the links page and whatnot. Take a look around. =)

Ch-ch-ch-changes!
Due to some creative differences, we have had to wish Mike farewell. The split was mutual and amicable - there will be no silly drama to be found here! We just didn't want to take the music in the same direction anymore, and going our own ways was best for everyone. We wish him the best of luck in all his musical endevors and look forward to maybe playing with him again in the future.
But that does mean that we're in the market for a new guitarist. So if you, or anyone you know, are interested in setting up some sort of audition-type-thing, drop us an email! We'd love to hear from you!
In other news...
The demo is still going to be recorded, however probably a few weeks later than anticipated. My guitar instructor, Stefan (aka "Master Shredder") has graciously volunteered to lay down the guitar tracks for us. So keep checking back to see how progress on that is going.
